ARUBA
Who: Blake Thompson and Carly Thompson of Centennial
Where: California Lighthouse at the northern tip of the island
Best meal: Carambola Restaurant, well-located in the low-rise hotel area, with impeccable service and offering a daily fresh catch of the day, as well as a kid-friendly menu
Best deal: Yes Rental Car. They provide door-to-door service for rental vehicles. Four-wheel-drive vehicles are a must to explore the entire island, which is only approximately 20 miles long and 4 to 6 miles wide. They upgraded our vehicle size at no charge, once they saw how tall our family was.
Best time to go: September-May, to avoid the hurricane season
Best travel tip: There’s no need to exchange currency, as virtually every place of business on the island accepts dollars.
