AURORA, Colo.—A mother arrested after her two children died in a house fire was sobbing in court during an appearance where she waived her right to hear the charges against her.
Authorities say 23-year-old Danielle Lynn Brockman is being held on $500,000 bond in the investigation into the deaths of Alivia Ramirez and Timothy Joseph Ramirez.
Aurora police say the kids were home alone when the fire broke out Sunday. T.J. died Sunday. Alivia died Tuesday.
Brockman faces two felony counts of child abuse or negligence resulting in death. KUSA-TV reports ( ) that Brockman was in court Friday and was crying and visibly shaken at times.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Services were held Friday for T.J. and Alivia.
