For the record: After a 35-7 win over New Mexico on Saturday, San Diego State improved to 5-3 overall, 2-2 in the Mountain West.
Streaking: Colorado State is 13-17 all time against San Diego State and has a two-game losing streak against the Aztecs. CSU has lost five of the last six in the series.
Who’s hot: Aztecs running back Ronnie Hillman. The sophomore leads FBS in rushing and has run for 100 yards or more in nine of his last 10 games, including seven of eight this season.
Who’s not: The Aztecs’ rushing defense. Stopping the run has been a problem for SDSU, which entered the weekend ranked 110th.
Key stat: San Diego State is in the nation’s top 10 in turnover margin. The Aztecs went into their game against New Mexico plus-1.1 per game this season and collected two more in that contest while committing none.
