Landry’s, owner of several restaurant chains, agreed to buy McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants for about $131.6 million to add to its stable of brands.
The cash acquisition at $8.75 a share, 29 percent higher than Monday’s closing price, is expected to be completed in late December or early January, the companies said Tuesday in statements.
In Colorado, Landry’s operates 10 restaurants: Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Willie G’s Seafood & Steak, Oceanaire, Landry’s Seafood House, Chart House, Simms Steakhouse, the Downtown Aquarium and three Saltgrass Steak House locations.
McCormick & Schmick’s has two restaurants in the area, in the Denver Tech Center and downtown.
