LONG BEACH, Calif.—A jury has convicted a Montana man in the murder of a former Denver disc jockey whose body was found floating in the ocean off Santa Catalina Island about five years ago.

Prosecutor John McKinney says jurors deliberated for a day and a half before finding 60-year-old Harvey Morrow guilty Wednesday of shooting and killing Steven Bailey Williams.

Williams was a DJ on the Denver radio station KBPI in the early 1980s.

McKinney says cell phone and GPS records placed both men on Morrow’s yacht on May 4, 2006.

Williams was shot once in the back of the head and his body was found in the ocean two weeks later.

Morrow faces life in prison without parole.

He is due for sentencing Dec. 16.
