COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A 27-year woman has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse after officers responded to a home and found a 1-year-old girl not breathing.
The Gazette reports ( ) that police arrested Melissa Alexander Friday. Police say the child is hospitalized in critical condition.
Police did not release additional details about Alexander’s arrest. A number listed in Colorado Springs for Alexander is disconnected and it wasn’t immediately clear whether she has an attorney.
