Three men who were arrested Friday at Copper Mountain have admitted to stealing brand new jackets, clothing and other equipment belonging to the U.S. Ski Team.
William Walker Lancaster III, Ryan Allen Lundquist and James Neal Callahan were arrested after the U.S. Ski Team reported the missing equipment to Copper Mountain Security, according to a news release from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
The team noticed the equipment was missing on Nov. 10. The next day, a Copper Mountain Security member questioned the three men and later found several missing items in Lancaster’s apartment. More of the missing equipment was later found in a garbage bin.
Lancaster and Lundquist admitted to stealing the equipment from the team’s conference room while Callahan acted as a lookout.
Most of the equipment was unusable after three attempted to remove all of the teams logos off of the gear.
All three men were charged with felony theft and could face up to six years in prison and $500,000 in fines.
Lancaster and Lundquist were released on a $7,500 bond and Callahan was released on a $2,500 bond.
