LOVELAND, Colo.—The Loveland City Council has rejected a nuisance-control ordinance on fireplaces and barbecues, saying it would be too difficult to enforce.

The ordinance rejected Tuesday would have made it unlawful for a person to cause smoke that endangers health or causes injury.

According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald (), the ordinance was requested by residents upset over a neighbor’s wood-burning stove.
