STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo.—Routt County officials are trying to convince county commissioners they are underpaid and deserve raises.
County Assessor Gary Peterson says the group doesn’t expect the meeting on Tuesday to result in salary adjustments in the near term.
He says the disparity between the salaries of elected officials and appointed department heads is almost 40 percent.
According to Steamboat Today ( ), others appealing their salaries include Treasurer Jeanne Whiddon, County Clerk and Recorder Kay Weinland, Sheriff Garrett Wiggins and Coroner Rob Ryg.
