DENVER—A survey of state workers shows they think the work they do is important, but they are concerned about their chances for advancement.

The study by Gov. John Hickenlooper’s administration cost $200,000.

According to the Denver Post ( ), only 35 percent agreed that chances for advancement were adequate.

State officials say more than 20,000 anonymous responses were received out of 100,000 full, part-time and temporary employees who were surveyed.
