The Catholic Archdiocese of Denver’s Gabriel Project will expand services by opening a support center for pregnant women in Boulder Friday.

Bishop James Conley will bless the Boulder Gabriel House at 1 p.m. as doors open.

The Boulder Gabriel House, 2885 Aurora Ave., is in a small commercial complex on the southeast boundary of the University of Colorado campus. The 950-square-foot center has a welcoming room for expectant mothers, children’s play area, storage room for clothes and diapers and office space for staff and volunteers.

The English- and Spanish-speaking staff’s hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

The Denver Gabriel House, 1341 Oneida St., served 850 individuals in the first six months of 2011, according to archdiocese officials.
