A smash and grab thief, or thieves, hit several vehicles in the South Park Hill neighborhood overnight.
About a half-dozen vehicles in a one block span had front, side-windows smashed by a blunt instrument and small items were stolen, a Denver police officer said.
The robberies happened in the 1500 block of Holly Street and on East 16th Avenue between Holly and Ivanhoe Street.
Kelly Vandermeer and her family are among the victims, two of her vehicles were hit.
“They took a pair of sunglasses,” Vandermeer said.
The Smith sunglasses were worth about $100, she said.
Vandermeer has lived in the neighborhood for about six months and has not had any prior problems.
Among the vehicles hit were a Mercury Zephyr, a Subaru, a Toyota sedan and a couple of SUVs.
To help avoid being victimized, residents should park in well lighted spots, if possible, and don’t leave valuable items in view, police say.
