 is used to making couples swoon on Valentine’s Day. However, according to their , the swooning will kick into overdrive with the announcement that the Colorado Symphony Orchestra will be accompanying them on stage in a few months. The 2012 Valentine’s Day performance will take place at  February 18 and the show will be recorded as part of a live CD/DVD to be released at a later date.

If Valentine’s Day is too far out for your DeVotchKa fix, you can catch them performing at the  sponsored Clyfford Still Museum opening night party on Friday, November 18.

 

Bad Weather California gets “Sunkissed”

hit the pavement in support of the Meat Puppets this past summer and the guys have some great news for fans. Akron/Family’s record label , , will be releasing the new BWC album, “Sunkissed,” February 21, 2012. Check out a clip from the band’s  below.

Woodsman plays a live session on East Village Radio

ճ dudes sounded like they were on some next level stuff playing a live session for East Village Radio’s show, “Beyond Beyond is Beyond,” that you can listen to . Peep their latest video, “Parallel Minds,” below taken from their latest EP, “Mystic Places.” Something tells me the aid of a certain hallucinogen would greatly expound on the viewing of the video, but that is not a suggestion.

I bet you never thought you would ever see the combination of , LeAnn Rimes and Dr. Ralph Stanley mentioned in the same breath. Hyundai is sponsoring the documentary, “RE: GENERATION,” that brings five of the world’s largest DJs to collaborate with musicians that you would never possibly imagine to re-create the wheel, (i.e. the Doors with Skrillex). Listen to Pretty Lights, LeAnn Rimes and Dr. Ralph Stanley take a stab at the twangy classic, “Wayfaring Stranger.”

Ian Cooke keeps on truckin’

Both good and bad news to report from the camp. The lot of them were involved in a van accident that occurred November 16 in Sterling, Colo. en-route to Nebraska. Everybody came out unscathed, save for some broken CDs and such. The touring van hit a patch of black ice, and the picture above is the result. According to Cooke’s manager, Ian O’Dougherty, the show will and must continue to tour. The following dates are in support of Ian’s latest album, “Fortitude.” Godspeed, guys.
