FORT COLLINS, Colo.—A man accused of starting a fire that caused $10 million in damage in Fort Collins last month is getting a break on his bond after about 30 supporters showed up at a bond hearing.
Benjamin Gilmore, a beekeeper and outspoken anti-Wall Street activist, got his bond adjusted on Thursday to $250,000 cash, property or surety, making it easier for Gilmore to make bond. He was being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond. He is charged with first-degree arson, second-degree burglary and criminal mischief.
According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan ( ), Gilmore’s defense attorney showed the court a list of church friends, Occupy Fort Collins activists, beekeepers and others who support Gilmore.
