Getting your player ready...

While the thermometer drops, families at master-planned Anthem Highlands in Broomfield have a hot lineup of activities that run pretty-much year-round…including Denver’s only 5-K/10-K Turkey Day Run, kicking off 9 a.m. Thanksgiving morning, at Anthem’s 32,000-square-foot Parkside Community Center. There’s $4,000 in prize money available, including $2,000 split between winners of the 5-K and 10-K men’s and women’s races…and you can still sign up at pre-registration prices (there’s also a 4-member family team 5-K with its own prizes).

“That’s why families live in Anthem,” says Jenn Ankrum, sales rep for Pulte Homes, who’ll be on hand today to help you sign for the race, and to show you three collections of homes, some ready for the holidays. Last month, residents drove to the rec center for a Broncos tailgate party – barbecue courtesy of Anthem, potluck from neighbors, and the game inside. Later in the month, there was Trick-or-Treat Street, with crafts, costumes, and a ‘Thriller’ dance class.

“Halloween here was packed,” adds Ankrum, who lives right here in the community. “You have to buy enough candy; you always see a lot of kids.” You also get to see grandparents: Anthem Highlands, off Highway 7 at Lowell, is next door to Del Webb’s 55-and-older Anthem Ranch, with its own community center, sharing 60 miles of trails that will be featured in Thanksgiving’s Turkey Day Race.

To make all that happen, Anthem Highlands has its own community director, Debra Wyatte, who nurtures a full calendar of happenings – including a quarterly orientation party — a chance to get your kids connected, and to plug into the neighbors. “You can be as involved, or not, as you want,” says Ankrum, “but it’s hard to find this anywhere else. You can call people on the spur of the moment and ask if they can watch your kids.” She adds that homebuyers (14 have signed on since Sept. 1) find real value in that uniqueness, and weigh it in as they compare comparably priced areas.

Pulte reps can show you homes that’ll deliver right now, such as a ‘Cimarron’ 3-bedroom, $274,990; and a ‘Telluride’ with walk-out backing to open space, $540,000. The Turkey Day Run (it’s grown from 400 runners to an expected 2,000 this year) benefits Heroes at Home – military families needing home repairs. Sign up at RedlineRunningCompany.WorldSecureSystems.com or come see Anthem Highlands today and its new Prospect Ridge Charter School, and reps will give you a hand. Take I-25 north past 470 to Highway 7, then west three miles to Lowell, south a block to Indian Peaks Parkway, and follow signs to the models.
