assumed her throne as the elder stateswoman of pop during last month’s Super Bowl, and she’s following up the large-scale performance with a worldwide arena and stadium tour.

The simply titled “Madonna World Tour 2012” will hit Denver’s on Oct. 18, promoter LiveNation announced this morning.

Denver joins a crop of major North American cities ranging from New York and Los Angeles to Vancouver and Quebec City with (at least) one scheduled date.

The tour is in support of her forthcoming album, “MDNA,” scheduled for a March 26 release. U.S. residents who purchase tickets online will receive a free copy of the album, digital or physical.

Madonna’s complex Super Bowl performance — featuring acrobatics, a Boulder slackliner and a bird-flipping M.I.A. — was seen by over 47 million households, the largest in Super Bowl history, according to the release.

Tickets for the Denver date, $49, $94, $174 and $359, go on sale 10 a.m. March 12 through livenation.com.
