The 2011 football champions sit atop each of the Denver Post media polls, led by Columbine in Class 5A.
Each ranking received at least one new team: Highlands Ranch and Bear Creek joined 5A, Greeley West and Green Mountain in 4A, Frederick and Lewis-Palmer in 3A, Strasburg in 2A, Monte Vista in 1A, Merino in 8-man, and Eads in 6-man.
Other big movers:
• Lakewood, the 5A runner-up, made the biggest jump, going from ninth to second.
• Castle View jumped up to No. 3 from sixth in 4A.
• Frederick went from unranked to No. 4 after crashing the 3A semifinals. Also in 3A, Palisade went from tenth to third.
• Kent Denver is ranked second in the 2A poll despite not making the final.
• Wiggins went from 10th to second in 1A after reaching the championship.
