A bicyclist was seriously injured early this morning, after he collided with a city street sweeper vehicle and was pulled under the machine.

At 1:15 a.m., a city street sweeper — with its bristles running — was traveling eastbound on E. 16th Avenue when it entered the intersection at Ogden Street, said Lt. Matt Murray, a spokesman for the Denver Police Department.

The man was riding his bike southbound on Ogden Street when he hit the street sweeper and was pulled under the vehicle.

He was taken to Denver Health Medical Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The man’s name has not been released.

No charges have been filed as of this morning and the investigation is ongoing.
