The name of the RTD bus driver who hit an Aurora woman in a crosswalk and drug her 10 feet was released today.
Michael Byars, 57, of Aurora, was charged with with careless driving resulting in serious bodily injury, after he hit 46-year-old Rejenna Hargrove as she was crossing East Alameda Avenue, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.
Shortly before 8 p.m., the bus was traveling northbound on South Sable Boulevard and had a flashing yellow traffic light to turn west onto Alameda Avenue.
Hargrove was walking in the crosswalk when she was hit. She was taken to a nearby hospital with a broken pelvis but no life-threatening injuries.
Byars was released from the scene.
