Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in a crash that injured a woman and four firefighters Wednesday afternoon when her vehicle collided with a firetruck that was responding to a call.
The unidentified woman suffered two broken bones, police said. Four firefighters were transported to a local hospital as a precaution, said Aurora police Lt. Charles DeShazer.
He said the woman was alone in her Toyota sedan going east on East Sixth Avenue near Del Mar Circle about 5:15 p.m. Other traffic had stopped at Del Mar to allow the firetruck to pass. The woman moved to pass the stopped cars, then, at the last second, saw the firetruck and swerved into two stopped cars. She then spun into the firetruck’s path. The Denver Post
