The Budweiser brewery is offering the public a 23,500-pound photo opportunity Wednesday.

That’s 2,000 pounds for Jackson, 2,000 pounds for Manson and 2,000 pounds for each of their six other stable mates. Throw in a 3-ton red wagon, a couple of drivers and a spotted Dalmatian, and you’re looking at almost 12 tons of beer promotional power.

A “hitch” of famed Budweiser Clydesdale draft horses that is based in Fort Collins will be put through its paces for the public Wednesday afternoon outside the brewery’s visitor center.

The eight horses will be hitched to the wagon and will pull it around the parking lot for visitors to photograph, according to Roman Raber, assistant superintendent of the traveling team.

“We travel about 320 days a year,” he said. “That’s why it’s kind of a big deal.”
