DENVER—Two juveniles suspected in an attack on geese in Longmont have been issued summons to appear in court next month.

Witnesses say they saw a teenage boy get out of an SUV on New Year’s Day and chase geese from Loomiller Park onto a street. Police say the SUV then sped straight into the birds. Three geese were dead at the scene, and a fourth goose that was injured died days later.

KMGH-TV in Denver ( ) reports the suspected driver and the person suspected of herding the geese were issued summons to appear in court on Feb. 1, when they each could be charged with four counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

The teens’ names haven’t been released.
