COLORADO SPRINGS — The Colorado Springs City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved moving forward with negotiations to lease Memorial Health System to the University of Colorado Hospital.

Voters will have the ultimate say in approving or rejecting the lease agreement. If voters approve, Memorial would join a new hospital system that the UCH and Poudre Valley Health System are forming, and Children’s Hospital Colorado would operate a specialty “hospital within a hospital” at Memorial.
