COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The city of Colorado Springs has agreed to pay $480,000 to a former Manitou Springs police officer who alleged his ex-girlfriend and another Colorado Springs police officer worked together to put him in jail.

Jarrott Martinez sued the city and Colorado Springs officers Michael Jelmo and Sydney Huffman after Huffman accused Martinez of crimes including assault. Martinez was acquitted. Huffman now faces six felony counts of attempting to influence a public official.

Martinez’ lawsuit accused Huffman of coercing investigators into pursuing charges against him. It alleged Jelmo didn’t properly investigate her claims.

KMGH-TV in Denver reports () Colorado Springs will pay Martinez $480,000 to settle the suit. Martinez’ attorney didn’t say under what terms Huffman and Jelmo agreed to settle.
