COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Authorities have safely detonated an explosive device found in Colorado Springs, not far from Otis Park.

El Paso County sheriff’s officials said Friday it appears someone added an explosive substance to a small carbon dioxide cartridge that is similar to cartridges used in some pellet guns.

Officers blocked off about two blocks to detonate the device.

It wasn’t immediately known who found the device or how it got there.
