Thornton police on Friday said they have identified a man they believe tried to kidnap a woman outside a Walmart store.
They say the man, 29-year-old Daniel Matthew Krajnik, was an escapee from the Colorado Department of Corrections at the time of the Jan. 3 incident. Thornton police have filed an arrest warrant against Krajnik, who is in custody in Denver, where he was arrested on Jan. 4.
A man allegedly waited outside the Walmart on Grant Street near East 98th Avenue before following a woman out. He grabbed her in the parking lot and showed her a handgun. She yelled and bystanders ran to help.
