Winter Meltdown Challenge

Registration deadline Thursday: The Lafayette Recreation Department is sponsoring an eight-week community challenge to lose weight and form healthy fitness habits. Choose from a Nutrition Only Level and a Fitness/Nutrition Level. Fees vary. The female and male who lose the largest percentage of body weight each win an annual pass. Catch Healthy Habits

Saturday: Seniors’ Resource Center has partnered with the OASIS Institute, a national education organization dedicated to enriching the lives of adults age 50 and older, for a new program that pairs adults age 50-plus with children in grades K-5 to encourage healthy eating and physical activity. Sessions last eight weeks and include a nutrition lesson, a snack and 30 minutes of vigorous and physical games.
