DENVER—A crowd estimated in the thousands took part in Denver’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration.
The event Monday billed as a “marade” began at a memorial to the civil rights leader at a park east of downtown Denver and included a march through the streets to end at Denver’s Civic Center Park near the state Capitol. Gov. John Hickenlooper, Mayor Michael Hancock, Sen. Mark Udall and other dignitaries addressed the crowd. The Denver Post ( ) estimated the crowd in the thousands.
In Fort Collins, the Coloradoan estimated a crowd there for a march in the thousands.
