Esther Vergeer knows she probably will lose a tennis match again someday. She just didn’t want it to happen this weekend. The 30-year-old defeated Dutch countrywoman Aniek Van Koot 6-0, 6-0 in just 47 minutes Saturday to win the women’s singles wheelchair event at the Australian Open, keeping alive her astounding 444-match win streak. It was Vergeer’s 20th Grand Slam singles title and ninth at the Australian Open. “This is an awesome life I’m living,” said Vergeer, right, who has not lost a singles match since January 2003. “Even if you have a disability, there’s so much that you can still do.”
