BOULDER — After two quarters of rugged basketball in which turnovers far outnumbered the two teams’ collective point total, Shining Mountain head coach Enoch Miller believed his team might have an opportunity to exploit some open space at the top of the 3-point arc in the second half.
And Miller had a hunch that reserve forward Billy Hussey would be the perfect man for the job.
Hussey rewarded his coach’s faith in electrifying fashion on Saturday, knocking down four consecutive 3-pointers in the early moments of the third quarter and scoring 18 points in the frame as the host Lions stormed past Simla for a 48-35 win in a non-conference matchup of Class 1A top-10 teams.
