COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Colorado Springs police say a driver traveled the wrong way on Interstate 25 for about four miles until he was stopped by a police officer whom he had passed head on.

Police say Stephen Smith was driving south in the northbound lanes of I-25 around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, hitting speeds of 75 mph.

An officer who was heading north on I-25 turned around after Smith passed him going the wrong way and drove on the shoulder to catch up with him.

No one was hurt.

The Gazette reports ( ) Smith was cited with drunken driving and other traffic infractions.
