RENO, Nev. — A young gray wolf’s search for a mate apparently won’t take him to the Nevada desert where the annual Burning Man festival is staged.
Wildlife officials say that after wandering hundreds of miles across Oregon and northern California, the wolf called OR-7 is no longer headed toward the Black Rock Desert but has turned back west.
He’s the first gray wolf seen in California in more than 80 years.
