Westbound Interstate 70 was closed east of Genesee for almost 2 hours a after a pickup truck collided with a semi-trailer truck this morning.
The accident happened around 7 a.m., forcing the closure of I-70’s westbound lanes near C-470, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The collision forced the pickup truck to roll, said Trooper Josh Lewis, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.
Emergency crews had to extricate a passenger trapped inside the truck. The extent of that person’s injuries were not immediately known.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
Traffic was redirected around the accident via U.S. Highway 40.
