The Denver Medical Examiner’s Office today identified a woman found dead in a home in the 2600 block of Pontiac Street on Sunday morning.
Laboratory tests will officially determine the cause of death of 43-year-old Scarlet Jones, the coroner’s office said, but firefighters suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.
The Denver Fire Department said Sunday the level of carbon monoxide in the home was 260 parts per million; the acceptable level is 35 parts per million.
Utilities in the home recently had been turned off, and Jones apparently was using a gas generator to run space heaters.
