The Avett Brothers are both revivalists and heralds, as their melodic, indie-friendly take on roots and bluegrass came early in a trend that’s seen pop-folksters Mumford & Sons and the Civil Wars garner Grammy nods. And the North Carolina band is still rising, as evidenced by its headlining dates at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Tickets for its June 29 concert, with City and Colour, and June 30 show, with Denver’s DeVotchKa, are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($37.75-$45.25, Ticketmaster)
Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy and Bill Engvall are known collectively as three-quarters of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour.
