GRAND JUNCTION—An investigation is under way after a 104-car train loaded with coal derailed in De Beque Canyon in western Colorado.
Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis tells the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( ) the train was headed from the West Elk Mine in Arco to Kentucky when one of its cars went off the rails just before 6 p.m. Saturday. No injuries were reported.
Davis says the derailed car remained upright and did not dump its load.
