Colorado Attorney General John Suthers and U.S. Attorney John Walsh said today that they filed a joint lawsuit today against Bella Homes, a Georgia firm they allege scammed more than 450 homeowners, including five in Colorado, who were seeking help with foreclosures.
The lawsuits alleges Bella Homes principals collected more than $3 million in “rent” payments over a two-year period ending in February that they mostly diverted to personal use, while customers ended up losing their homes and not getting the relief promised.
