Like lots of moms of tween-agers, Megan Barksdale has had trouble finding fashionable but age-appropriate clothes for her daughter, Elke, 10. “Many of the clothes for this age group are cheaply made and the necklines are too low and the hemlines too high,” said Barksdale. Unlike other moms, she decided to do something about it and about a year ago, Barksdale and friends Laura Moore and Lucy Waugh decided to create a Boulder boutique for tween girls. Jovie, catering to girls that are typically 8-14 years old, opens at 11 a.m. Saturday, carrying such lines as Splendid, Ella Moss, Joe’s Jeans and Elaine et Lena.
