ASPEN, Colo.—Conservation groups are urging the federal government to limit gas leasing and expand environmental protection in a new plan for drilling on local public lands
The resource management plan being drawn up by the Bureau of Land management covers more than a half-million acres of BLM land across western Colorado.
According to the Aspen Daily News ( ), the plan that regulates use, development and protection of BLM property was last updated in 1984. The public comment period ended on Wednesday.
