Law enforcement agencies are teaming up to be on the lookout for drunken drivers this weekend in the Vail area during Snowball Music Festival.
Starting today, the Gore Range Task Force will have several officers specializing in both drug and alcohol impairment on duty, dedicated to DUI enforcement throughout Eagle County.
A news release from Eagle County states the mission of the task force enforcement will be to try to deter impaired driving with high visibility enforcements.
The Gore Range DUI Task Force includes the Avon Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, Eagle Police Department, and Vail Police Department. This DUI crackdown was made possible through grant support from the Colorado Department of Transportation and the Eagle River Youth Coalition.
The annual music festival started this afternoon and will run through Sunday. Saturday the lineup will feature rapper Snoop Dogg and electronic music from Dada Life, and duo Ghostland Observatory.
