A man was shot on the sidewalk on Lipan Street between West 12th and West 13th avenues this afternoon. He was rushed to nearby Denver Heath Medical Center in critical condition, said police spokesman Sonny Jackson.
His name and age were not immediately available, but Jackson said the victim did not live in the immediate area.
Denver police received a report of a shot or shots fired at 3:04 p.m. and found the man “in pretty bad shape” along the street, Jackson said.
He did not know how many times the man had been hit.
The all-residential neighborhood is three blocks south of West Colfax Avenue and two blocks east of Lincoln Park.
