ASPEN, Colo.—A river expert is recommending filling in a kayak park along the John Denver Sanctuary because it is harming the Roaring Fork River.

Consultant Bill Miller says the Aspen recreation area is harmful to fish-spawning habitat when water levels are low.

According to the Aspen Daily News ( ), city environmental director David Hornbacher says the city needs to consult with the county to determine what action to take.
