The Irish wise are smiling
Novelists. Academics. Businesswomen. Lawyers. Scholars of Chinese language and scholars of Irish history. If today’s holiday makes you ponder your own Irish roots and their role in your own life’s path, get a gander at “Wise Irish Women,” a self-published collection of profiles written by two Texas cousins, Laura Prendergast Gordon and Patricia Connorton Kagerer, each of whom lost a parent and through the grieving process, discovered what they valued in their own heritage. If you’re thinking of self-publishing, you can follow their journey through it on their blog — or just test their recipe for Irish soda bread.
