SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Because of the high demand, the Rockies will use a new procedure for buying opening-day Rockpile tickets at Coors Field.
The Rockies’ home opener is April 9 at 2:10 p.m. against the San Francisco Giants.
According to the Rockies, a random drawing will determine the order of lines given the opportunity to buy opening-day Rockpile tickets. The drawing will be conducted at Coors Field on April 7 at the Rockpile ticket windows located at the ballpark’s gate A. Parking lot A will open at 7 a.m.
Details provided by Rockies on the drawing to buy opening-day Rockpile tickets on April 7:
• 7 a.m. Parking lot A opens.
• 7:30-9:30 a.m. Outside the Rockpile ticket windows, randomly numbered wristbands are distributed.
• 10 a.m. Opening-day Rockpile tickets go on sale.
• A limit of four tickets per person can be purchased that day by those selected in the drawing.
• Opening-day Rockpile tickets will be sold only by this ticket lottery system at Coors Field on April 7.
• Under this system, there is no advantage to being first in line for a wristband. All fans receiving a wristband will have an equal opportunity to be selected in the random drawing.
