The former fiancee of Sabrina Nicole Stevens was sentenced to 15 years in prison today for her death in 1998, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office said.
Stevens was 19 years old when her naked body was discovered dumped on the side of the road off C-470 near Alameda Parkway by a man waiting for a tow truck on June 8, 1998, four days after Adam Jesse Dixon, now 39, was the last person to see her alive, prosecutors said.
Dixon pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on March 1.
Investigators never learned where Stevens died. She was strangled to death.
The Lakewood Police Department’s Cold Case Unit presented their fresh evidence to the District Attorney’s office last year and Dixon was extradited back to Colorado from Missouri to face the charge.
