GREELEY, Colo.—Weld County residents are getting free groundwater tests for oil and gas contamination.
The county’s new Federal Mineral Lease Board is spending nearly $150,000 to purchase the equipment needed for the testing.
According to the Greeley Tribune ( ), the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission does similar testing for well water contamination, but residents need another layer of security as the industry continues to expand.
