An Arvada man accused of raping an 18-year-old prostitute during a trip to Seattle, was arrested in Westminster Friday.
Courtney Wayne Dawson, 37, was arrested in Westminster on suspicion of first-degree rape charges out of Washington, according to an arrest warrant. Dawson was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Charges were filed in King County Superior Court in Washington last week, according to The Seattle Times. The charges allege that during an August trip, Dawson agreed to pay the woman $100 for sex. Dawson is then accused of attacking the woman with a knife and raping her in the back of the car.
He is also suspected of attacking two prostitutes in Oregon in July, the paper reported.
Dawson appeared in Jefferson County court Monday. He is now awaiting extradition back to Washington.
