Here’s good news for penny-pinching baseball fans caught up in today’s Coors Field Opening Day excitement:
offer myriad opportunities for fans to , according to Sue Ann McClaren, the team’s vice president of ticket sales. “We have a ton of promotions and discounts,” says McClaren, adding that the is “very fan-friendly and easy to access.”
Among the most popular Colorado Rockies discount ticket programs:
Coca-Cola Value Packs: These are priced at $59 and $79, and include four tickets, four food and beverage coupons, parking and a copy of Rockies Magazine.
King Soopers partnership: King Soopers’ SooperCard carriers who purchase $25 in groceries are eligible to buy up to 4 lower-level, outfield box tickets at $14 each instead of $38 each.
Wells Fargo offer: for select games through late September. The online purchase code for this promotion is “WELLSFARGO.”
“Rockpile” seats: A limited number of $4 tickets are available for each game. For the best selection and bargains, check with the the Rockpile Ticket Office at Coors Field on game days a few hours before the first pitch.
Some of the Rockies’ other popular discount promotions include packs, and “PowerTickets,” in which concession credits are included in the price, McClaren says.
One last heads up from the team for baseball-loving bargain-hunters: Those who fail to buy tickets through a reputable source — namely the Coors Field box offices, or King Soopers and City Market locations — could be selling themselves short.
“We have scalpers everywhere (and) a lot of people that do sell tickets fraudulently,” McClaren says. “Then when (the purchasers) come to the gate, their ticket won’t scan… It happens more than it should, and especially during the more popular games.”
