COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Authorities say a 19-year-old man was hiking with a friend when he fell more than 100 feet to his death from an overlook in the mountains west of Colorado Springs.

Lt. Lari Sevene, a spokeswoman for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, tells The Gazette ( ) that deputies were called to the scene near St. Peter’s Dome on Saturday afternoon. It initially was unclear if the man fell or jumped.

His name has not been released.
