Each year, more than one million American students drop out of high school, according to the National Commission on Adult Literacy. Each suffers the same consequence – without a high school diploma, these individuals face greater risk of unemployment and a lifetime of lower salaries, according to the American Council on Education®.

A new program called the Good Neighbor Initiative* helps Coloradans get back on track. CollegeAmerica, a career-oriented leader in online and on-campus education, has launched the Good Neighbor Initiative, a community-enrichment effort that provides free GED ® test preparation and other courses and career skills workshops at no cost to community members. CollegeAmerica provides the course instruction, books, tutoring and even covers the cost of the exam. These courses are available at CollegeAmerica’s main campus in Denver, branch campus locations in Fort Collins and Colorado Springs and at the satellite campus in South Colorado Springs.

“At CollegeAmerica, we are committed to finding education solutions that meet the needs of both our students and our communities,” said Eric Juhlin, CEO of CollegeAmerica Services, Inc. “We designed the Good Neighbor Initiative as a way to help people in our community get education and training that can improve their lives, help them support their families and contribute to the economy.”
